Prayer concerns and Joys for September 5-12

—Jan Gray was in church today!  She is doing better and hopes to get the word this week that she can begin driving herself soon!  She wants to go visit her mother Gertrude McGuire in Virginia later this week...with her daughter Jen.  Jan just called, Monday morning, to say she was on her way to Virginia--her mother has taken a severe turn for the worst and is not expected to make it.  Jan has faced so much...we all pray for God's comfort and kindness to ease thesuffering of her mother and Jan/Jen as they face another loss in the family.
--Karen Burdette shared that a friend and co-worker, Leann Clark, is deeply concerned for her father, Mr. Townsend, who is suffering from cancer.  Please pray for all the family.
--Debbie Hoffman (and the Hoffman family) were able to be back in church this week, and Jim was able to spell Mary on the piano during Communion.  She shared that the forwarded story about a young boy who accidentally shot himself with a nail gun was unidentifiable, but we continue to pray nevertheless.
--Belva Bailey updated us on Jerry Flynn, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident.  He also suffered a broken pelvis and will be in the hospital for another month.  But he is improving.
--Bob Bailey has several people on his mind that need prayers--a gentlemen he met with Lou Gehrig's disease, and his sister Marlene Black, who has had several issues in the past year that have left her hurting, including the loss of her husband.  Please pray for these individuals.
--Ann Waller will be going back to the specialist without her brace this week--she is still taking it easy but is doing much better and looks forward to normal activities.
--Hattie Mays reported that she talked to Hazel Williamson this week, who is out of the personal care home and living with her relatives.  She expressed interest in all of her old friends, said Hattie.
